Some simple tips to help you settle in

If you just arrived to Ajijic-Chapala and are still settling in, there are many things you’ll have to find out. Here are a few simple tips for you.

  • The area is worth exploring. You can get a map at the bookstore in Plaza Bugambilias (where the movie theatre is).
  • Mosquitoes can be a nightmare. Citronella candles are great natural repellent.
  • Pay phones in Mexico do not take coins. Phone cards are available in almost every shop.                                                      
  • If you bring a car, carry copies of your FM-3 or FM-2 and your drivers license in it.                       
  • Keep a copy of some useful numbers by your phone:

- To cal the firefighters dial 068

- To know the exact time dial 030
